Who is Anwar Hossain Helal?

 

Anwar Hossain Helal became MP from the Chairman of the Union Parishad. In Naogaon-6 (Raninagar-Atrai) constituency, he was elected MP from Awami League with a huge vote in the by-election of the National Assembly on Saturday. 

Who is Anwar Hossain Helal?

Anwar Hossain Helal was born on July 12, 1964 in an Awami League family. His father late Azim Uddin Sardar was member of Raninagar Upazila No. 1 Khatteshwar Raninagar Union Parishad in 1975 and UP Chairman in 1991. Anwar Hossain Helal was elected as the first public representative in 2003 as the Chairman of Khatteshwar Raninagar Sadar Union Parishad No. 1. Then in 2009 Raninagar Upazila Parishad election participated and won. Upazila BNP general secretary SM Al-Farooq James was the rival candidate in the union and upazila elections. In 2014, he participated in the Raninagar Upazila Parishad election again with the boat symbol and was defeated by the then Upazila BNP General Secretary SM Al-Farooq James. Anwar Hossain Helal won the Raninagar Upazila Parishad election in 2019. He was UP Chairman once and Upazila Parishad Chairman twice in his political career and first elected as MP in Naogaon-6 (Raninagar-Atrai) constituency by-election. Since 2014, he has been the vice president of Upazila Awami League. On July 27, MP of Naogaon-6 Constituency Israfil Alam died and the seat fell vacant. When the election schedule for this constituency was announced, 34 party nomination papers were picked to get the Awami League nomination. Among them, Raninagar Upazila Parishad Chairman (former) and Upazila Awami League Vice President Anwar Hossain Helal was announced as the nominated candidate of Awami League and given the boat symbol. Anwar Hossain Helal was elected MP for the first time from Chairman after defeating BNP candidate Rezaul Islam Reju in the by-election of Jatiya Sangsad last Saturday (October 17). He said, I will always be there for the happiness and sorrow of the local people. I will also see to it that the former Bengali brother-GMB, the proletariat cannot raise their heads again and the people of the area can live in peace. Newlyelected MP Anwar Hossain Helal said, I am grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He chose the boat symbol out of trust in me and love for me. The people of the area have chosen me with love. I have gifted this seat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
